Dan is a Principal Engineer and observability lead at Skyscanner, recently elected member of the OpenTelemetry Governance Committee, and author of "Practical OpenTelemetry: Adopting Open Observability Standards Across Your Organization". Throughout his career, his main focus has been building solutions to reduce the cognitive load required to operate systems at scale. At Skyscanner, enabling hundreds of engineers towards observability best practices and adopting open standards across more than one thousand different services, which provide a reliable service for millions of users every month, presents him and his team with unique challenges and learnings to share.
