Production Readiness: Building Resilient Systems
Charity Majors has often said, “If you aren’t testing in prod you aren’t testing in reality.” How do you balance testing in production and being production-ready? Join Charity along with engineers from LaunchDarkly, Netflix, Cossack Labs, IBM, and VMware to discuss the path to production. Production Readiness: Building Resilient Systems looks at what it means to have a resilient, production apps today. Topics we’ll discuss include observability, security, the software supply chain, CI/CD, chaos engineering, along with deployment techniques such as feature flagging, canaries, blue-green deployments all in the pursuit of production resiliency.
Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring Senior Developer Talent
Senior software engineers are coveted and scarce. Engineering leaders often feel like technical recruiting teams fail to source them and the interviewing process fails to achieve its one goal: hire these critical team members. In this roundtable, engineering leaders from high growth enterprises share their best practices for hiring the teams that will propel their growth.
Key topics include:
- Building and living up to your engineering brand
- Inclusive interviewing best practices and how to implement them
- Identifying hiring signal for senior talent

The conferences were very well prepared and the people giving them really knew about the topic and were sharing all their experience.
The content was spot on and the speakers were well-versed in their topics.
Good subject matter for a "lightweight" event. Really good and relevant speakers.
Interesting insight into SRE experience and some usable tactic takeaways. The format worked well and was well organized.
[I liked] having presentations packed with quality content from leading speakers from the industry. Asking questions with Q&A was really useful.
The topics and the way they are presented by people with current experience really improves my visibility in the field. The answers from the presenters during the Q&A reveal details that otherwise will be learned the hard way by my own mistakes.
Quick digestible and actionable information. This half-day event was great. I like the focus on a particular topic with different perspectives.
This was a great way to start diving into all the rich content InfoQ provides.

We’ve been helping software development teams adopt new technologies and practices for over 15 years through InfoQ articles, news items, podcasts, tech talks, trends reports and QCon software development conferences. Join a community of senior software engineers, architects and team leads and never miss out on important trends.
